Had one. It was amazing.

1978 Continental Mark V. 460/4bbl/C6, 9" disc brake rear axle. Indestructible drivetrain. Ohh she was glorious. Averaged about 12mpg if I kept my foot out of it, though with the pedal to the floor you could literally watch the fuel gauge move. She scooted though! Really liked cruising on the highway around 70-80mph. Like driving grandma’s couch on the interstate. Red velour interior, roman numeral clock on the dash where a tachometer would otherwise be.

So much awesome.

Town cars were the same way on the highway. I'll never forget when I was on the PA turnpike and looked down was doing 90 something. Car felt like it was doing 35.

I almost like it more with the patina on it. Never cared much for the MKV compared to the MKIV or MKIII but you can’t beat that gauge cluster

The “marbled” finish was a feature as far as I was concerned. I got the car when I was 19, and did not give a rat’s ass about scratches and dents.

That car was HUGE. It could seat four big people across the front end. I miss her. :(

I also liked when badges formed some sort of logical design, instead of just being glued onto random corners of the trunk lid.
